Last year my college roommate Cameron and I day-hiked the first half of Segment 10 of the Mountains to Sea Trail. This year we met again and were able to complete the entire segment from Little Lick Creek Bridge to Falls Lake Dam. Over 3 days we explored 45 miles while reminiscing and catching up. MST: Eno River State Park to Little Lick Creek Bridge (Segment 10)
Segment 10 of the Mountains to Sea Trail extends 79 miles from the Eno River State Park to the Falls Lake Dam. The Falls Lake Trail and the Mountains to Sea Trail run concurrently along the southern border of the undisturbed water reservoir of Falls Lake, extending well beyond the reaches of the Eno River to the west and the Neuse River at the Falls Lake Dam to the East. Even though there are many access points and being in close proximity to the metropolitan area surrounding Raleigh, the trail feels as if you are hours away from any traffic or cities.

The Eno River is prominent in the Piedmont Region of the MST, in fact it follows the Eno for over 20 miles. The Eno and the associated State Park are very convenient to Durham and they offer many trails and areas to get away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan area.
